TyresDirect Auckland NZ for new tyres in Auckland & cheap tyres in Auckland. All car tyres online!
Tyres are a very important component on a car and yet very expensive. It is important to know where to go for tyres on your vehicle and to know the difference in brands, where they’re manufactured and whether it’s best to go to a tyre shop or your mechanic.
It is important to know what your tyre offers and how long it is going to last as opposed to the price of the tyre and how cheap you can replace your tyres. The price of the tyre and type of tyre depend heavily on what kind of car they are going on, as every type of tyre is unique and serves a different purpose.
Tyres in Auckland
Tyres in Auckland are found at approximately 275 tyre shops throughout the Auckland region. The most widely known and heavily advertised are Beaurepairs, Firestone and Bridgestone which have many stores within Auckland and dozens throughout New Zealand.
Frank Allen Tyres are very well known too but they have recently been taken over by Beaurepairs, which means Beaurepairs now has 25 tyre shops throughout Auckland.
Then there’s Discount Tyres with five tyre shops in Auckland, and newcomer Tony’s Tyre Service with four Auckland tyre shops.
These tyre shops all sell good quality tyres and well-known brands such as Dunlop, Goodyear, Hankook and Kumho. They all also have 4×4 tyres and are able to fit and balance the majority of tyres.
Auckland tyre shops face fierce competition from automotive garages and mechanics. Many mechanics now stock tyres and have cheap tyres and budget tyres for sale, appealing to a wider range of customers.
Although mechanics have the same sort of equipment as tyre shops to fit and balance tyres, including some 4×4 tyres, they often cannot fit the larger, more expensive tyres that Auckland tyre shops are able to do.
Many car owners wisely choose to have a wheel alignment when they have new tyres fitted and balanced. But some mechanics don’t offer wheel alignment services like tyre shops do, which limits the tyre customers that mechanics can take on.
This is why many Auckland mechanics sell cheap, budget tyres instead of focusing on the quality end of the car tyre market.
Cheap Tyres
Cheap tyres are in high demand and vehicle owners seem to be buying less and less of the well known, quality brands such as Dunlop, Goodyear, Hankook and Kumho tyres, and opting more towards cheap tyres to get them through safety inspections. However, those cheap tyres won’t necessarily last as long or have the same quality levels as reputable brands like Dunlop, Goodyear, Hankook and Kumho tyres.
Tyre Prices
Tyre prices have changed markedly as competition between tyre shops in New Zealand has intensified. Tyre shops now face stiff competition from mechanics on the price of tyres.
Both new tyres and second hand tyres are now readily available at most mechanics. Tyre companies, tyre importers, tyre distributors and the large chains of tyre shops are all advertising tyres for sale.
If you’re looking for discount tyres in Auckland, this all means they’re pretty easy to find. You won’t, however, find second hand tyres at the better known tyre shops in New Zealand, which tend to focus more on quality and well known brands than second hand tyres.
Nowhere in New Zealand is the competition as fierce as it is for tyres in Auckland.
