Auckland tyre shops face fierce competition from automotive garages and mechanics. Many mechanics now stock tyres and have cheap tyres and budget tyres for sale, appealing to a wider range of customers.
Although mechanics have the same sort of equipment as tyre shops to fit and balance tyres, including some 4×4 tyres, they often cannot fit the larger, more expensive tyres that Auckland tyre shops are able to do.

If you’re looking for discount tyres in Auckland, this all means they’re pretty easy to find. You won’t, however, find second hand tyres at the better known tyre shops in New Zealand, which tend to focus more on quality and well known brands than second hand tyres.
